MSE Tool - Node & Event Controls Documentation

Overview

This document details how to interact with nodes and events within the MSE tool. It covers setting events, grouping nodes, moving time position nodes (TPNs), and other key functionalities.

1. Setting Events on Nodes

Action: Hover on a node and press E

  • Sets an event on the currently hovered node.
  • This action is useful for marking specific points in your project.

๐Ÿ›  Usage Example:

  1. Move your cursor over a node.
  2. Press E on your keyboard.
  3. The node now has an event associated with it.

2. Group Selecting Nodes

Action: Right-click and move the cursor

๐Ÿ“Œ What It Does:

  • Allows you to select multiple nodes by holding right-click and dragging the cursor.
  • This is useful for applying bulk changes or organizing your workspace.

๐Ÿ›  Usage Example:

  1. Hold right-click on an empty space.
  2. Drag your cursor over multiple nodes.
  3. Release right-click to finalize the selection.

3. Manipulating Time Position Nodes (TPNs)

3.1 Moving a TPN

Action: Hover on a TPN, press G to drag, and release G to drop

  • Moves the TPN along the timeline.
  • Releasing G places the TPN at the new position.

๐Ÿ›  Usage Example:

  1. Hover your mouse over a TPN.
  2. Press and hold G to grab the TPN.
  3. Move the cursor to a new position.
  4. Release G to drop it.

3.2 Setting Current Audio Time to TPN Position

Action: Press F

๐Ÿ“Œ What It Does:

  • Updates the current playback time of the audio to match the position of the TPN.

๐Ÿ›  Usage Example:

  1. Move a TPN to a specific point on the timeline.
  2. Press F.
  3. The audio now plays from the TPN's position.

3.3 Assigning Events to Nodes Touching the TPN

Action: Press J

๐Ÿ“Œ What It Does:

  • Automatically assigns events to all nodes that are in contact with the TPN.

๐Ÿ›  Usage Example:

  1. Move a TPN over multiple nodes.
  2. Press J.
  3. All nodes touching the TPN will now have events.

3.4 Creating Nodes at TPN X & Cursor Y

Action: Press C

๐Ÿ“Œ What It Does:

  • Creates a new node at the X position of the TPN and the Y position of the cursor.

๐Ÿ›  Usage Example:

  1. Move a TPN to the desired X-axis position.
  2. Move your cursor to the desired Y-axis position.
  3. Press C.
  4. A new node appears at (TPN X, Cursor Y).
